It was a roller coaster of an international career for Finnan-White, but she achieved plenty along the way.

She made her Test debut at the 1990 Commonwealth Games, when netball was a demonstration sport.

Finnan-White was then a late call-up to Australia’s team for the final of the 1991 Netball World Cup in Sydney as an injury replacement having been originally overlooked for Joyce Brown’s squad.

Finnan-White was recalled to the national team six years later and played a key role in Australia’s triumphant 1999 Netball World Cup campaign. She retired from netball after playing in the 2000 Tri-Series against South Africa and New Zealand.

Versatility and fitness were keys to Finnan’s game that allowed her to play in the defensive circle or midcourt.

She represented the Sydney Sandpipers and then captained the Queensland Firebirds in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy. After her retirement, Finnan worked as National Netball Development Manager for the National Aboriginal Sports Corporation Australia.
