The talented midcourter spent a decade wearing the green and gold, highlighted by winning three Netball World Cup titles in 1991 (Sydney), 1995 (Birmingham) and 1999 (Christchurch)
O’Donnell was vice-captain of the Australian team that claimed the 1999 world title and announced her retirement from international netball following that memorable triumph.
She was the inaugural captain of the Melbourne Kestrels in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy between 1997-2000. She made two comebacks to the Kestrels after having children – in 2003 and 2005.
Since her retirement O’Donnell had stints as a commentator and been involved with coaching.
