Steph Fretwell

Smart, cool, confident and classy; there are few players you want to have the ball in their hands with the game on the line other than former Diamonds vice-captain Steph Wood.

After playing for the Queensland Firebirds then the NSW Swifts, Steph moved back to Queensland in 2017 to join the Sunshine Coast Lighting, where she became one of the most dangerous goal attacks in the world. Debuting for the Diamonds in 2016, her Suncorp Super Netball performances solidified a spot in the national squad for the 2017 Constellation Cup with Wood going on to be a key cog in the Diamonds gold medal wins at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and 2023 Netball World Cup.
