Carissa Tombs was a tireless centre court player who spent a decade in the Australian squad.
Renowned as a superb all-round athlete, Tombs was selected in her first Australian team in 1989 and was a member of Australia’s three Netball World Cup title-winning sides in the 1990’s – 1991, 1995 and 1999.
A knee reconstruction temporarily halted her international and domestic career, but Tombs returned to be part of the inaugural Commonwealth Games gold medal-winning team in 1998. She retired after the 1999 world titles.
