Catriona Wagg began her Test career as part of the Australian team which played New Zealand in the demonstration match at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland.
She was part of the Australian team which won the 1991 Netball World Cup in Sydney and was a regular in the side for the next couple of years with her game possessing height, speed, agility and great touch.
A change of position from goal attack to wing attack saw Wagg recalled to the Australian team after a two-year absence due to a knee reconstruction at a squad training camp.
She was the inaugural captain of the Sydney Swifts in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy in 1997 and led the side for three seasons.
