A natural athlete who possessed great speed and elevation Cheryl McCormack was a defensive player able to cover three positions.
McCormack had a meteoric rise to her netball representative career. A late comer to the sport, McCormack played in the NSW 21/U team in 1979 before progressing to the NSW Open team in 1980 and the Australian Squad in 1982.
She was one of the original inductees to the Netball Residential Program at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra when it was launched in 1981.
McCormack made her international debut against Trinidad & Tobago at the Australia Games in 1985.
She continues to be involved in the sport having served as a Director of NSW Netball from 2013 to 2015 and is currently a Director of Netball Australia.
