Known for her ability to score goals from anywhere in the circle, Chris Harris represented Australia at two Netball World Cups.

She was part of Australia’s triumphant 1983 team that won the world title in Singapore and returned as part of the team four years later when the tournament was played in Glasgow, Scotland.

A serious knee injury forced Harris to miss the 1985 Australia Games team – and she became the first athlete to represent Australia in netball after recovering from an ACL injury.

Harris was also named in the Australian team in 1988 part of the team that toured China in 1990.

Across her netball career at club, state and international level, it’s estimated that Harris had a 95 per cent accuracy record.

Teammates regarded her as a player that always had a fantastic sense of humor and was always focused on doing what was best for the team and finishing off their good work.
