Clare McMeniman began playing for her home-state in 2007 and she has never donned another state’s dress.
With the Firebirds she has been a part of three winning premiership teams; 2011, 2015 and 2016.
She took two years off from 2012-2013 following the death of her parents but her return in 2014 was one of strength and passion, taking up the green and gold dress of the Diamonds.
She is a strong player, who doesn’t set her game for stats or showy play but rather puts on a game face and shuts down her players. It is this practical determination which is part of the reason she was named captain of the Diamonds in 2016.
Although low in International games played, McMeniman was not low on experience and her appointment as captain was unanimous amongst the squad.
McMeniman retired from all netball in 2016 but has taken to the court as a coach for the Firebirds as of 2017.
