A fast and athletic midcourter, Di Honey (nee Atkinson) made her international debut in her hometown of Melbourne against New Zealand in the Australia Games.

Over the next three years Honey would make 17 appearances for Australia playing either at wing attack or centre where her dynamic play was an asset to the national team. 

She was a member of Australia’s 1987 Netball World Cup team which won silver in Glasgow, Scotland and made her last Test appearance against Trinidad & Tobago in 1988. 

Honey has been involved in coaching since retiring as a player, including serving as specialist midcourt coach with the Australian Diamonds for two years. 

Since 2012 she has been part of the coaching panel with former Victorian teammate Simone McKinnis at the Melbourne Vixens.
