Deadly accurate around goals, Jennifer Borlase (Kennett) was part of the Australian team for a decade in one of the golden periods for Australian netball.
She was part of three Netball World Cup winning sides in 1991, 1995 and 1999 and the 1998 Commonwealth Games gold medal winning side. For most of her career Borlase was the understudy to Vicki Wilson in the goal circle, but stepped up in the 1995 world titles when Wilson injured her knee.
Four years later in Christchurch, Borlase came off the bench in the final and played a key role in Australia’s stirring last quarter fightback against New Zealand that ultimately clinched the world crown.
Borlase served as a board member of both Netball Victoria and Netball South Australia and was involved with coaching post her playing days.
