One of Australia’s best ever defenders, Keeley Devery OAM provided the backbone of the Australian team for over 10 years.
She made her Test debut in the 1985 World Games in London and was renowned for her tight circle defence, timing and uncanny ability to draw in rebounds. After playing in Australia’s 1987 Netball World Cup team, Devery suffered a serious knee injury that required a reconstruction.
However, she bounced back strongly to regain her position in the team and was part of Australia’s famous 1991 side that won the world title in Sydney.
After playing her last Test in 1993, Devery continued to play at domestic level in Sydney before retiring from netball in 1996.
