Australia’s second Test captain, Mary White was also the first to skipper the side on an overseas tour.
She led Australia on a tour of New Zealand in 1948 where the team won all three Tests.
White became a life member of Netball SA in 1952 and served the state as a player, coach and was also a well-respected umpire.
