Michelle Wilkins (nee Jones) played her entire international career as part of Australia’s 1987 Netball World Cup campaign.
She is recognised as the 100th player to represent the Australian netball team when she took to the court against Papua New Guinea.
Having captained Victorian underage teams, Wilkins timing and fitness made her a difficult centre to match up on. Her ability to ready the play and her skills were also assets of her game.
Wilkins was also the inaugural captain of Australia at the Netball World Youth Cup when the tournament was played for the first time at Canberra in 1988.
Since 1990 Wilkins has been involved in a range of coaching roles at state and territory and national level, including at the Australian Institute of Sport. She also led Australia to the 21/U World Youth Cup in 2005.
