Nicole Richardson holds the unique honor of being the last player to debut for Australia in the 20thcentury.
Richardson is also part of a select group of athletes to have represented Australia in two different sports.
She won a bronze medal in softball at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and was part of the Australian netball team which won gold at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Atlanta.
An extremely talented athlete, Richardson was able to play at centre of wing defence and her steady hands and decision making were trademarks of her game.
She played seven seasons with the Melbourne Kestrels in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy, captaining the team from 2000 up until her retirement at the end of 2003.
