Origin Australian Diamonds head coach Stacey Marinkovich has named the 15 athletes who will face New Zealand in next month’s Constellation Cup.
Defensive duo Joanna Weston and Courtney Bruce return from injury. The pair will join fellow defenders Sunday Aryang, Rudi Ellis, Matilda Garrett and Sarah Klau.
Marinkovich said she would continue to explore combinations and versatility against the Silver Ferns.
“It’s a great opportunity to further explore our combinations with the inclusion of Jo and Courtney, and also the integration of players who have been evolving in both their individual performances and as a unit,” Marinkovich said.
“We have versatility in the rotations that we can play, and we will continue to attack the opposition in a variety of different ways.”
The Origin Australian Diamonds currently hold the Constellation Cup and will be looking to claim their third consecutive series win.
“There’s no greater challenge than playing the Silver Ferns in New Zealand, particularly based on our history,” Marinkovich continued.
“Not only are we trying to solidify the way we want to play, but we want to be able to do it away from home.”
The 2024 Constellation Cup begins in New Zealand next month, with the opening matches to be played in Wellington (October 20) and Auckland (October 23).
The series will cross the Trans-Tasman for the final two matches where the 13th Constellation Cup winner will be crowned.
Match three will be contested at Perth's RAC Arena on Sunday 27 October from 4:00pm AWST with support from the Western Australian Government and Netball WA.
Melbourne’s John Cain Arena will close the series on Wednesday 30 October at 7:00pm AEDT and be supported by the Victorian Government through Visit Victoria.
Every match of the 2024 Constellation Cup will be broadcast live and exclusive in Australia on Fox Sports, available on Kayo Freebies and Foxtel.
