The Origin Australian Diamonds will take on England, New Zealand and Uganda in a new-look Netball Nations Cup in London and Leeds in January.
Four of the world’s top netball nations will go head-to-head across the weekends of 20-21 and 27-28 January 2024.
The Diamonds have never met Uganda on the international stage, and will come up against the world No. 7 ranked She-Cranes after their top five finish at the 2023 Netball World Cup.
It will mark the first time the Diamonds have played the Roses since this year’s Netball World Cup final. The Diamonds were crowned world champions after defeating England 61-45.
The Diamonds took on the Silver Ferns at last month’s Constellation Cup, winning the series 2-2 on goal difference.
Origin Australian Diamonds head coach Stacey Marinkovich looked forward to coming up against Uganda for the first time, as well as rivals New Zealand and England.
“The Netball Nations Cup is a great opportunity for us to come against three varying styles of play,” Marinkovich said.
“We are excited to play Uganda for the first time, and to come up against our traditional rivals in England and New Zealand.
“We will continue to work on our combinations and depth against three of the world’s top netball nations in London and Leeds.”
The Origin Australian Diamonds tour squad for the Netball Nations Cup will be announced shortly.
