This injury brings an end to an incredible year of netball for Hadley after she played in her second Netball World Cup in Liverpool in July and followed that up by leading the NSW Swifts to a Suncorp Super Netball premiership.
Hadley will unfortunately miss the opportunity to play in the gold dress in front of an enormous home crowd in Sydney tomorrow when the Diamonds take on the Ferns in Game 3 of the Constellation Cup series at Qudos Bank Arena.
Samsung Diamonds head coach Lisa Alexander is disappointed to be losing Hadley from the team ahead of the crucial third match.
“We really feel for Paige, especially given she would have been playing in front of her home crowd tomorrow. And to be losing her from the team for the remaining two matches of the series isn’t ideal but we’re confident we have the depth within our group to get the job done,” she said.
“For tomorrow’s match, we won’t be bringing in a replacement for Paige – our team will remain as is with the 12 athletes already a part of the Constellation Cup team.”
Hadley will sit on the Samsung Diamonds secondary bench during tomorrow’s match which will be broadcast live on Channel 9 and the Netball Live Official App at 1pm AEDT. Tickets are also still available via Ticketek.
