The long-time servant to Australian netball and three-time world champion player has had several stints working with the Australian team and made the decision not to seek reappointment for the 2018/19 season.
The specialist coach and mentor, Caldow said the timing was right to step away from her role with the national team.
“I have not made this decision lightly. There is no doubt I will miss my involvement with the Diamonds leading into next year’s World Cup, but it’s time for a new challenge and focus.
“It has been a privilege to work with so many wonderful coaches, support staff and Diamonds players.
“I walk away with some great memories and have been fortunate to experience the ultimate success at both the World Cup and Commonwealth Games.
“It has been an amazing journey working with and alongside Australia’s best netballers, who are outstanding young women and great ambassadors for our sport,” Caldow said.
Samsung Diamonds head coach Lisa Alexander said she was grateful for the knowledge and experience Margaret brought to the Diamonds group.
“Margaret was a wonderful contributor to the team. Her work as a coach and mentor with the playing group and coaches was invaluable.
“The ultimate professional, Margaret set the standard on attitude and commitment to all aspects of life on and off the court.
“I thank Margaret for the support she provided me personally and to the team, and wish her all the best for the next chapter of her life,” Alexander said.
Netball Australia is currently in the process of identifying coaches to fill the vacant roles.
More details on the new appointments will be provided in the coming weeks.
