The Origin Australian Diamonds have named a tour squad of 13 athletes for January’s Netball Nations Cup.
The Origin Australian Diamonds will take on England, New Zealand and Uganda in London and Leeds across the weekends of 20-21 and 27-28 January.
Goalers Sophie Dwyer and Donnell Wallam return to the Diamonds line-up after strong international series earlier this year against New Zealand and South Africa.
The Diamonds have never met Uganda on the international stage, and will come up against the world No. 7 ranked She-Cranes after their top five finish at the 2023 Netball World Cup.
The Diamonds last met the Roses at this year’s Netball World Cup, and the Silver Ferns at the Constellation Cup in October.
Origin Australian Diamonds head coach Stacey Marinkovich looked forward to the challenge of coming up against the top netball nations.
“The Netball Nations Cup is a great opportunity for fans to see the Origin Australian Diamonds against various international teams and styles of netball,” Marinkovich said.
“It's a great challenge to be able to not only test ourselves against these styles of play but to do so in front of a loud England crowd.
“We will continue to explore the depth and capability of our squad as we look to drive performance with a vision to the future.”
The Diamonds will travel to the AIS in Canberra for a training camp on Monday 8 January.
The Origin Australian Diamonds tour squad was selected by Marinkovich and national selectors Anne Sargeant OAM and Michelle Wilkins.
Every game of the 2024 Netball Nations Cup will be broadcast live and ad-break free during play on Fox Sports, available on Kayo Sports and Foxtel.
