Captain Liz Watson is set to return from injury when the Origin Australian Diamonds take on three of their biggest rivals in January’s Netball Quad Series.
Watson is one of five midcourt players named for the tour and will travel to London for the four-match series alongside Ash Brazill, Paige Hadley, Kate Moloney and Jamie-Lee Price.
Watson has been sidelined since March after having surgery to repair a navicular bone injury.
The 27-year-old has progressed well with her rehabilitation and is set to take to the court at London’s Copper Box Arena when the Diamonds take on Netball England’s Vitality Roses, the New Zealand Silver Ferns and Netball South Africa’s SPAR Proteas in the Netball Quad Series from 16-20 January, 2022.
Ash Brazill, 31, has also returned to the green and gold after being sidelined with a knee injury in 2020.
“We’re delighted Liz and Ash will return to the court alongside a fast and attacking midcourt with Paige, Kate and Jamie-Lee,” said Origin Australian Diamonds head coach Stacey Marinkovich.
“Each athlete brings a unique skillset to the tour squad and we’re looking forward to seeing these combinations on the court in January.”
The Netball Quad Series tour squad goalers and midcourt have been confirmed, with the defenders set to be announced tomorrow.
