I’m looking forward to getting up to the Gold Coast next week and working with the Australian Diamonds team at our Netball World Cup SYDNEY 2015 training camp.
The last two weeks have been a whirlwind of appearances, the spectacular ANZ Championship Grand Final – which people are still talking about - training and gala dinners. So it will be terrific to focus on our preparation for the Netball World Cup at this camp.
It’s an exciting time as we look ahead to the start of the World Cup in Sydney in just over a month’s time.
Now that all the countries have selected their teams, our homework on our opposition can begin in earnest.
Next week’s camp will consist of technical and specialist sessions along with match play and performance analysis to ensure the Diamonds are keenly focused on improvement in all areas both as individuals and as a team.
During the week we also named which of Netball Australia’s pathway athletes would be part of the Australian 21/U team taking part in warm up matches in Sydney and Newcastle against the Diamonds, New Zealand and England and a New Zealand `A' side.
We also selected the Netball Centre of Excellence touring party heading to Tasmania for matches against Scotland and Wales.
Both these teams have an extraordinary opportunity for the best international competitive experience.
Learning and growth is what it is all about.
Go Diamonds!
