When opposition players see Gabi Simpson coming, they know it’s going to be a long night.

She has the ability to shut players completely out of the game. Simpson is a crucial cog in the Queensland Firebirds midcourt machine, claiming back-to-back premierships with the team in 2015 and 2016. She also made her international debut in 2015 and then capped off a stellar run by winning the Liz Ellis Diamond award in 2017, netball’s highest individual honour. If the Diamonds are known for polish, Simpson brings the grit. She’s tough, tenacious and never gives up.
